A Love Letter to Our Imperfect, Un-Filterable Selves

We live in a world that increasingly pressures us toward digital perfection. Filters, editing tools, and algorithms encourage us to erase every flaw, every wrinkle, every reminder that we are human. But my work, Facetune Portraits, moves in the opposite direction. These paintings are a love letter to our gloriously imperfect, un-filterable selves.
Oil paint resists the smoothness of filters. It captures texture, irregularity, and difference. Where technology seeks to flatten us into sameness, painting restores the beauty of individuality. Each portrait becomes a reminder that our imperfections are not problems to be fixed, but signs of authenticity and humanity.
In a culture that equates beauty with flawlessness, Facetune Portraits offers another definition: beauty as the courage to be unfiltered, unapologetic, and real.
This work is not just about resisting digital aesthetics—it’s about reclaiming the joy of imperfection.
Our scars, wrinkles, and differences are what connect us. They’re what make us human.
