I read Seth Godin's blog every morning. His books, all of which I reread at least once a year, have been foundational in how I approach my art and career. This is an excerpt from today's post:
The difference between a successful artist and a painter is that the artist becomes captain of the creative arc, determining where and when to show up and what impact they seek to make.
I've been thinking a lot about the opportunity cost of the money (and time) spent on AI-driven beauty adjustments. The cost of lip fillers typically ranges from $683 to $1,567 per vial, with an average cost of around $868.
Walking from the B terminal to the exist at SLC yesterday it came to me that my studio could suggest an alternative use of these funds - something that empowers women and shows the cumulative possibility of what we could be doing instead. We are going to call that charity Lip Service.
