Facetune Portraits was born from that tension: a refusal to be edited into compliance.

I began experimenting with beauty filters not to correct images, but to expose them. I wanted to see how technology defines beauty — and what happens when we push back. The results were revealing: AI doesn’t celebrate difference, it eliminates it.

Every face it touches becomes thinner, lighter, smoother, more “perfect.”But perfection is passive. Perfection doesn’t provoke or question.

My work aims to reclaim imperfection as a creative force — to show that the messy, uneven, unfiltered aspects of who we are are not errors to be fixed, but evidence of being alive.

In that sense, Facetune Portraits isn’t just about art — it’s about defiance. It’s about reclaiming authorship over our own faces, our own stories, our own data.

Because maybe the most rebellious thing any of us can do is to stop performing perfection and start existing fully — flaws, contradictions, humanity and all.
